The Imaja Reminder can use speech synthesis software to speak items in various windows. The Speak Items (‚åòK) command in the Extras menu is used to trigger the speech synthesis in the Day, Hourly, Overdue, Event, and Directory windows. If a sound has been recorded into an item using a microphone, the Speak Items command will play that sound instead of speaking the item text.
As the items are spoken, the item text is temporarily displayed in an alert box.
If Use Speech Synth is turned on in the Extras menu, then events will be spoken when they become overdue.
In the Directory window, using the Find command will cause the name and phone number to be spoken if Use Speech Synth is turned on.
Imaja Reminder has been tested with the Apple's Speech Manager extension (version 1.5.3). You can change speech settings in the Speech control panel in Apple menu.
